Title I students at Belmont Elementary School receive extra help in reading, writing, and/or math.  Average instructional time is one half hour per day, three to five days per week.  Services are received in small groups (3-4) in a designated Title I area(reading) or in the classroom (writing & math).




Title I Staff

Ms. Webster works to improve reading skills with 1st and 2nd grade students  in the morning and teaches the extended day kindergarten in the afternoon.

Mrs. Bryant works to improve reading skills with 1st and 2nd grade students in the morning and with the extended day kindergarteners in the afternoon.  

Mrs. McLelland works to improve reading abilities with 3rd and 4th grade students throughout the school day.

Mrs. Hillis works to improve writing skills with 3rd and 4th grade students throughout the school day.

Mrs. Embree works to improve math skills with 3rd and 4th grade students throughout the day and may work with 2nd grade students later in the year.




TITLE I ACTIVITIES

Title I sponsors the Story and Activity time held in the BES library two Mondays each month, for children ages 4 -7.

Title I is involved in many school activities, including Open House, Family Fall Festival, Parent - Teacher Conferences, Integrated Arts Showcases, and The Educational Expo.


Title I has a year-end celebration for all its participants with its Game Night and Ice Cream Social.

The Summer Boost Program is a Title I funded program.  This program offers Title I students extra services for three weeks during the summer.  


    EXTENDED DAY KINDERGARTEN    
                                                                                                                                              
The Title I Kindergarten Program provides an extended day program to help build early literacy skills.  Children receive additional instruction through language-based activities.  The program is coordinated with the morning kindergarten program in order to provide a full range of educational opportunities.
