Classes Taught for Shaker Regional District: Mr. Lounsbury teaches the 5th, 7th and 8th General Music at Belmont Middle School. He teaches the 7th & 8th grade chorus at BMS, and he travels up the hill to Belmont High School for one period each day to direct the BHS Chorus. In addition, Mr. Lounsbury also teaches trumpet and trombone lessons to our 5th and 6th grade brass players.

Teacher Bio: Mr. Lounsbury has been teaching in the Shaker Regional School District since October of 1994. He earned his degree, a Bachelor of Music in Music Education, from the University of New Hampshire ('88, cum laude). He has taken graduate courses at Plymouth State University and the Hartt School of Music, where he has attended choral conducting seminars with Dr. Dan Perkins (PSU) and Dr. Rodney Eichenberger (Florida State U). Mr. Lounsbury has also taught in the Gilford School District (1988-1991), as well as holding several choral directing positions with area churches and community choruses. Currently, he is serving as the director of the Suncook Valley Chorale, a community chorus based in Concord, NH (link there: http://svcnh.org ). He resides in Wolfeboro with his wife and son, where he can be seen during the summers directing the Cate Park Band on scenic Wolfeboro Bay.

Professional Affiliations: Mr. Lounsbury is active in the Music Educators National Conference (NHMEA), and has directed reading sessions for his colleagues at their workshops. He is currently the Community Chorus Repertoire and Standards chair for New Hampshire's chapter of the American Choral Directors Association. Other professional organizations with which he has been affiliated include: National Association of Pastoral Musicians, New England League of Middle Schools, Shaker Regional Education Association (the local chapter of the NEA) and the New Hampshire Band Directors Association.
